TI-swimming and ChiRunning

(As a Total Immersion Swimmer) Do you find running painful and gruesome? This workshop will change your running experience in a positive way.

Total Immersion Swimming and ChiRunning are like brother and sister. The only difference being that while swimming you are in a horizontal position and while running vertical.

So when you practice both, they will reinforce each other, and practicing your relaxed lower arm when you swim, will also help to relax your legs when you are running.

Are you able to swim long distances, but cannot achieve the same in running? Swimmers and of course triathletes, even runners can benefit from ChiRunning. After the workshop you will know how to run more efficiently.

ChiRunning Workshop – 25 September 2016 -10.00/17.00

Unlike swimming, most people just run and never think about how they run. They spend a lot of energy without setting up the right conditions for getting the most out of that energy. ChiRunning will teach you how to use your energy efficiently and at the same time reduce the chances of getting injured.

In one day you will learn the basics of ChiRunning. You will recognize how it feels when you use the correct ChiRunning technique. You will get feedback through video analysis.

The workshop will be led by Ans Oudejans in English. She is a Senior Instructor at ChiRunning and TI-Coach.

Coach Ans

She lives in the Netherlands and has been into sports all her life. When she started TI swimming, she also became hooked at triathlons. She loves the sprint and olympic distances, especially the cross, the ones of the road.

Baha Demirci, TI-Coach and ChiRunner will be present and assisting, also translating into Turkish when necessary.

 

ChiRunning is process oriented and not goal oriented. Which doesn’t mean you don’t have goals.
You just want to reach them by improving the process, the way you run. You don’t force yourself (mind over body). You seek a balance between body and mind while running. Your body is giving you feedback and your mind processes this and will adjust your running form if necessary.

All practicing will be done on flat road.(no hills and a flat surface)

Introduction of the basics - 15 min
Posture, Lean, Lifting the ankles and arm swing - 70 min
Start to run - 30 min
Body Loosener’s - 30 min
Cadence and Gears 60 min
Walking and hip rotation - 20 min
Sandpit exercise
Practice - 30 min
Video-analyses 90 min
